Vegetable Pakora
These are an everyday snack, and surely it works well while fasting during the holy month of Diwali. Crispy fried and served with a dip. It proves to be a favorite by many.
Ingredients
- 2 Medium Onions
- 1 Medium Potato
- 1 Medium Carrot
- ½ Cup Water
- 1 Cup of Split Pea Powder
- ½ Tsp of Baking Powder
- 1 Tbs of Geera
- ¼ Tsp of Salt
- ½ Tsp of Chilli Powder
- Pinch of Turmeric
Method
- Grate onion, potato and carrots in a medium bowl
- Make a thick mixture with the split pea powder, Baking Powder and water.
- Add chili powder, salt turmeric & geera. Mix well
- Now add the grated vegetables & mix well.
- Heat a pan with enough oil for deep frying, about 2 Cups.
- When the oil is really hot, place a table spoon of the mixture in and fry turning to even cook.
- There will be little sticking on to each other, which is ok. Take out from oil and allow draining oil by placing on a tissue paper.
Enjoy with ketchup or even Tamarind Chutney.
