Isn’t this cool, Dips choose 10 random fans to walk the ramp with her.
Deepika Padukone recently launched a clothing line with Van Heusen. To show off her collection, the brand wanted to put together a fashion show. The actress came up with a very cool idea who could be the models to walk the ramp.
Of course, the brand was keen to have top models for the show, but Deepika suggested that rather than models, her fans should be the models on the catwalk for the clothing line. The actress wanted to give the girls a taste of what it’s like being a professional model.
The team chose 10 random female fans of Deepika from across the country. Deepika says, “I thought it would be interesting to pick girls who identify with the way I dress. We haven’t selected them on the basis of their looks, height or whether they are experienced models. It was a random pick from the entries we had.”
Here’s what is even cooler, Deepika has worked around her schedule and is shooting nights to ensure she can personally groom these girls. She has taken full responsibility to get the girls ready for the show and they will undergo rehearsals, make up, grooming, trials and everything else before they hit the ramp.
“I will try to make it as memorable and special for them. I will spend time with them, chat and groom them so that they go back with great memories,” says Deepika,
She further adds, “I have always been grateful to my fans and, in whatever little way, I have always tried to give back.”
