Guys & Selfies
My last few blogs have been on the more serious side, so it’s
great to have a lighter topic. Here is my take on guys who constantly post
selfies….btw guys please don’t hate me for this….lol
You might think that I am bias here but I understand the
obsession with us girl taking selfies (some over post though) but when it comes
to guys I look at it differently. I feel a guy who constantly post selfies
especially if he is in a romantic relationship and is doing it for the sole
purpose of just because and isn’t advertising anything, is looking for
attention. Why do I say this? I feel that they are narcissistic and hey listen it’s
not just me thinking it but there is proof also. Researchers from Ohio State University found
that men who posted more pictures of themselves on social media had more traits
of narcissism and psychopathy than others. A psychopath? Hmmm, I didn’t think
it was that serious. Lol
If my boyfriend post numerous amount of selfies on social
media and it is overly necessary for him to get that perfect pose and filter I
know something is up. It would have me wondering – who does he needs to
impress?
I feel like guys need validation and attention from the
followers. If I am scrolling through Instagram and I see tons of selfies of
just one guy I am already turned off. Nothing is wrong with loving and
embracing your physical attributes but the need to constantly post says
something. I feel that your profile should be a combination of everyday life
activities, not just of yourself.
So guys gain some confidence, embrace all around you and stop being a narcissist.
