Fried Mac and Cheese
Whether you’re a lover of Macaroni and cheese or even the local macaroni pie, this recipe is about to be elevated to another dimension for the Christmas Season. How you ask? Well ever heard the saying that “anything fried is a winner”? Well, today we take Macaroni and cheese and make it into little parcels and deep fry it. Sounds spectacular doesn’t it.
Ingredients:
· 1 Box of Kraft Macaroni Cheese
· 2 Eggs
· ¾ Cup Milk
· 1 Cup of Flour
· 2 Cups of Bread Crumbs
· Vegetable Oil
Method
Follow the packaging instructions of how to make the Mac and cheese and when done layer while hot into a semi shallow casserole dish. Let cool for until very firm or place in fridge for three hrs.
Meanwhile, place bread crumbs into a shallow bowl, flour into a shallow bowl, and in another bowl, beat the eggs and milk together. Place a medium shallow pot on stove with about 2 ½ cups of oil to preheat. When Macaroni Pie is firm, cut medium cubes and set aside. Take cubes of pie and dust in flour, and then dredge into the milk egg mixture and bread finally with crumbs. Dust off any excess crumbs and place in hot oil. Fry for about two minutes until golden brown and crisp. Remove and place on a napkin to drain.
Arrange your Fried Mac and Cheese into towers and serve with a spicy Mayo dressing as a dip or even hot callaloo works well.
