I Knew there had to be some intrinsic reason that I left my home on a cold snowy polar vortex afternoon to see Jai Ho . Then again with the magnimus presence of Salman Khan ready to greet me on the big screen was termed the catalyst for my reasoning.

As the movie began, the quintessential Bollywood musical renditions and dance pieces that I have grown so fondly of peddled off with a Bang! I was pleasantly surprised to hear lyrics such as “They say India is great, yet the women are unsafe” from the song title “Baaki Sa First Class”. I knew it would have been interesting from there on.
Jai Agnihotri (Khan) is an ex-Army who is a “dapper” and wears all the colors of the Rayban wayfarer; he is more than a “Fashionista Divo”, he is a common man who wants to reproduce the Power Of Three. Do well; and tell the recipient of the deed to spread the word among three people, and those three to three more, and so on. It’s an excellent story; I felt the writer’s true and determined goal was to send this powerful message as a major premise in the plot of the movie. There are a lot of defining moments in the film that makes one truly think of all the social aspects in life that revolve around the disable, the poor, unfortunate service men, corruption and of course love. Such movies as this one always seems to peek my interest and revel my inner emotions as they highlight facets that we sometimes take for granted and shun to consider. This however was brilliantly executed by the director and the exceptional cast via the use of seemingly unprecedented plots.

Tabu has a significant role as the hero’s elder sister, and though her brother’s struggle against evil, lands him and his family in a string of danger, she still remains supportive of him. Naman Jain’s acting is superb. Leading lady Daisy Shah has a strong screen presence, however I wish she was included in more of the film. Danny Denzongpa as Home Minister Dashrat Singh portrayed his role commendably as always. There are quite a few surprise guest actors who played pivotal roles in Jai Ho and this definitely brings some element of interest and excitement in the movie. Yes there is a lot of action; however King Khan relied on his strength, bites and hardly the use of weapons. I like the fast paced editing which made the movie flow rapidly.
Salman Khan does justice to his role.

Jai Ho left a memorable message. A movie for the entire family, I recommend that you watch it.
